Celenza Sul Trigno

Located in the heart of the protected Monti Frentani region of Abruzzo, stands the hilltop town of Celenza Sul Trigno, a town with panoramic views of the river, the sea, the valley and the mountains. Celenza has a deep history, going back to the Roman times where it once stood as a fortified walled-in city; today, aspects of it’s rich history remain - remnants of Roman roads, stone archways, houses built on the fortified walls and natural spring fountains.
During the winter months, only the Celenzano remain with a population of 900 inhabitants before people from Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, South Africa, Luxembourg, England, Scotland, Ireland and America return to the summer homes. Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards and only 30 minutes from the sea and 1 hour from the ski slopes, Celenza is the perfect base for those seeking a more tranquil life with all your amenities in arms reach.

History Fact: Celenza Sul Trigno was the most bombed town in the upper Vasto region during WWII
